3.4 Water
Stagnation and
De-Icing System
(SolarBeeGS-12)

3.5 Interior Dry
Structural

3.6 Interior Dry
Coating
3.4.1
Currently the tower does not have a water stagnation system. BSI is suggesting
installing a Solar-Bee GS-12 unit, located on the bottom of the floor between the
drywell tube and the bowl plates. The Solar Bee unit will also aid in minimizing the
formation of ice inside the tower which can damage the coating system. See Solar-
Bee GS-12 Brochure.

3.5.1
Install a safety climb cables on the interior of ladder from the catwalk to the bowl
manway ladder with a new DBI safety cable system. See DBI Brochure in Appendix B.
See photo 18.

3.6.1
The coating Dry Film Thickness (DFT) on the interior dry surfaces is from 7.3 to 14.7
mils with an a high of 12 plus mils DFT.

The coating on the interior dry was replaced in 2013 and is now 10 years old and it is
considered repairable based upon its age.
BSI is recommending spot repairing the following areas:
The complete drywell tube
The complete top side of the steel condensate ceiling (estimated 100 random spots on
the fluted column and ladders)

The complete interior dry surfaces should be spot reconditioned at the same time the
tower is next scheduled for reconditioning in the next five (5) years. See photos 15
thru 22.

The coating on surfaces subject to sweating (interior of drywell tube, exterior of bowl
and condensation ceiling top side) should be replaced at the same time the tower is
next scheduled for reconditioning in the next five (5) years.

3.7 Exterior Structural 3.7.1

Replace the existing obstruction light with a new style LED obstruction light, bracket,
photo-cell and electrical conduit. The new obstruction light should higher than the
tallest Telecommunication Antenna, approximately 10-feet above the roof. See H&P
Drawing, BSI Drawing 27 and photo 23.

8
