Attachment B <br /> -A DI�EN HILLS <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> Position Title: Permit Technician/Office Support Specialist <br /> Department: Administration <br /> Accountable to: Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br /> Positions Supervised: None <br /> Status: Regular Full Time <br /> November 2023 <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVES <br /> Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work pertaining to processing various permits (building, <br /> zoning, mechanical, plumbing, water/sewer, etc.). Also performs a variety of routine and complex clerical and <br /> administrative support assistance, and related duties as apparent or assigned. Provides back-up to the <br /> Customer Service Representative (front desk) as needed. Work is performed under the limited supervision of <br /> the City Clerk. <br /> QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. <br /> The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable <br /> accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br /> Serves as primary role regarding the creation, processing, and issuance of various permits for contractors, <br /> builders, and the general public, and directs customers to the appropriate staff member. Responsible for City <br /> contractor licensing and financial reporting related to this process. <br /> Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for various agencies. <br /> Creates and maintains files and records pertaining to permits on the City's website and in Laserfiche to ensure <br /> City information is complete, accurate and current. <br /> Enters data in PermitWorks in order to maintain and generate accurate computer inquiries and reports. <br /> Assists City staff with maintaining the City's web site as it relates to the Building Department. <br /> Provides backup to Customer Service Specialist by answering phone calls, answering questions from the public, <br /> or routing calls as appropriate. <br /> Assists other departments and staff as necessary. <br /> EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br /> High school diploma or GED with coursework in business, or related field. Three (3) or more years of <br /> administrative support and moderate experience in technical training, IT, office support, word processing, or <br /> equivalent combination of education and experience. <br /> 1 <br />
