<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDE:\f HILLS CITY COlJNCTL MEETING MTl\UTES <br />MARCH 1 L 2002 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated he believed that something should be sent to retain some abi [ity to <br />influcncc the decisions ofthc pcople who were building highways through their community. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked ifthe Leaguc of Minnesota Cities were active on this front and <br />asked if they were they opposing this Legislation. Hc stated if Council sent a lettcr, he wanted a <br />copy sent to the League as well. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst directed staff to draft a Jetter Cor his signature with a copy sent to the League of <br />Minnesota Cities. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch stated he handed out the conclusion of the parks/trails study. He indicated this study <br />would be reviewed by the PTRC this month and would be discussed at the March 18 <br />worksession. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson requested thc PTRC prepare a five-year projcction. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gra.tlt strongly encouraged the PTRC to prioritize items Cor thc next five years. <br />lIe indicated an annual study did not make sense. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst agreed with the request of Councilmembers Larson and Grant. <br /> <br />COCl'ICIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated there was a Joint Maintenancc Facility meeting on March 15,2002. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst and Mr. Lynch updated Council on the developments regarding the maintenancc <br />facility. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson requested the School District be informed of the same information that <br />they had provided to the County. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski requestcd thc City not get so restrictivc on their own space that a <br />few years down the road, they are looking for morc space. She requestcd they stay open mindcd <br />on that and not be so conccrned about what everything was costing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked if Council wanted to give any direction or thoughts to the Task <br />Force. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst requested the Task Force takes a hard look at how the City does busincss. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski indicated the City Hall dedication was going to be April 20, 2002. <br />She stated they were planning on having a busincss luncheon the day before. She indicated the <br />purpose of the busincss luncheon would be to thank the corporate sponsors, and she would have <br />more inC0ll11ation regarding this at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Councihnember Aplikowski stat cd thc Day the Park was shaping up. She indicated there was <br />now a co-chair for the event. Shc statcd they did, however, nced more money to make this event <br />
