<br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 25, 2002 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Parrish explained one of the water meters the Council authorizcd replacement <br />of was located at the intersection of County Road D and Cleveland Avenue. He <br />explained that thc City needed to run upgraded electrical service to this meter pit. <br />The City had two options to do this, either by overhead line on a pole across <br />County Road D or from undcrground servicc on the north side of the property. <br />The recommended option was the undcrground service. He noted this corner was <br />designated as a gateway to Arden Hills. He stated to maintain the eascment area, <br />the proposed trail and the ability to provide a gateway sign in thc future, staff had <br />worked with the property owner on an alternative. He indicated the property <br />owner would provide the City with an easement along the northern border of his <br />property, so the City could access an existing electric scrvice. Since timing is an <br />important factor in mctcr replacement and the ground is beginning to freeze, the <br />property owner had also agrecd to provide a temporary construction easement in <br />advance of the permanent utility easement, as well as, the removal of existing <br />vegetation along the northern property border. He also noted thc cost of the <br />project would increase approximately $4,000.00, which funds would be taken <br />from the water fund. Hc stated staff rccommend proceeding with the . <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Steve Nelson, representative of the property owner, stated they agreed with the <br />staffs rccommendation and would expedite the request. Hc notcd all trees to be <br />removed would only bc on their property. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Mcmber Grant moved and Council Member <br />Aplikowski seconded a motion to approve a water meter <br />replacement electrical circuit on Cleveland A vcnue in an <br />amount not to exceed $4,000.00. <br /> <br />Council Member Rem requested Mr. Nelson to inform the residcnts in the area of <br />the intended activity on thc property. Mr. Nelson replied he would infornl the <br />residents. <br /> <br />Thc motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />. <br />
