.

.

.

ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION - March 19, 2001

COUNTY ROAD E-2. PROPOSED RAMSEY COUNTY COLD-IN-PLACE
RECYCLING

City Administrator Lynch stated that Ramsey County would like us to sign off on
a Cold-In Place recycling for County Road E-2 this summer. However, the
Mayor has asked that reconstruction be investigated as an alternative. Staff needs
the City Council to give direction on how they would like to proceed with this
proposal. Public Works Director Stafford read information received from
Ramsey County, stating what would the cost share for the City and Ramsey
County would be. Stafford recommended that the council approve the Cold-In
Place recycling option.

The decision that needs to be made is if we do Cold-In Place with a trail or we
hold off for a few years. It was also brought up that we could bring a proposal to
Ramsey County that if the City were willing to pay additional would the
reconstruction ofthis road be accelerated in County plans.

Stafford will be checking with Ramsey County regarding monies beyond the City
share to determine how much funding it would take and how long before
reconstruction could be scheduled.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS

COUNCIL AND STAFF REPORTS

Councilrnember Rem questioned the easement regarding property next to the high
school. Stafford reported that the owner retained a lawyer and requested a
drawing of what the city is planning. City Engineer Brown is currently working
with the resident.

ADJOURN

The meeting was adjourned by consensus at 7:35 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
