MEETING MINUTES CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2001 4:45 P.M. - CITY HALL, 4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD CALL TO ORDER Acting Mayor David Grant called the meeting to order at 4:52 p.m. Councilmembers present were Gregg Larson and Lois Rem with Councilmember Beverly Aplikowski arriving at 4:54 p.m. Mayor Probst had previously advised the City Council of his absence for this meeting. Staff present included City Administrator, Joe Lynch; City Accountant, Terry Post; Parks & Recreation and Interim Public Works Director, Tom Moore; and Recording Secretary, Sheila Stowell. City Consulting Engineer, Greg Brown, was also present. FINANCE DEPARTMENT A brief discussion of the preparation status of the proposed 2002 Budget was held. It was the consensus of those Councilmembers present to schedule a Truth in Taxation hearing in December, even though not required this year due to the action of the special legislative session. Staff was directed to provide meeting date options for Councilmembers to consider at their next regular City Council meeting, with preference given to immediately prior to a regularly scheduled meeting, possibly at the last meeting in November or early December. Staffwas further directed to include further discussion of the proposed 2002 Budget at the August 27, 200 I meeting as a regular agenda item. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Acting Mayor Grant introduced Consulting Engineer Ronald B. Leaf, P. E., and Project Manager with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (S.E.H.), the firm contracted by the City to develop the City's Stormwater Management Plan. Mr. Leaf answered questions and heard comment regarding work to-date on the draft Plan.
