Miller, Assistant Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Arden Manor Hardcourt Improvements Project — Professional Services <br />Agreement and CDBG Program <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$160,000 TBD PIR-Parks, CDBG funds <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Professional Services Agreement with Bolton and Menk Inc. in the amount not -to - <br />exceed $33,695 to complete "Shovel -Ready" Design and Construction <br />Administration of the Arden Manor Hardcourt Improvements Project and <br />application/administration of the Community Development Block Grant. <br />Background/Discussion <br />On July 10, 2023, City Council approved Change Order #1, removing the Arden Manor Park <br />hard court improvements scope of work from the Arden Manor Park and Floral Park <br />Improvements Project Contract with Peterson Companies. <br />City Council gave direction to City staff to pursue future Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG) program funding in 2024 to complete the remaining construction items at Arden Manor <br />Park, specifically, the hardcourt. <br />At the December 18, 2023 Work Session, City Council gave City staff direction to direct select <br />an engineering consultant for professional services to administer and deliver the proposed project <br />and to pursue the Community Development Block Grant Program to fund the Arden Manor <br />hardcourt construction and construction administration, while utilizing PIR-Parks funds to fund <br />the grant application (approximately $5,000) and `Shovel Ready' design work (approximately <br />$18,000) in order to increase the competitiveness of the grant application (per discussions with <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
