Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Cooperative Agreement with Ramsey County related to roundabout at Old <br />Snelling and County Rd E & the Mounds View High School Trail <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />See tables below See tables below MSA, PIR, Water Fund, <br />Sanitary Sewer Fund, SRTS, <br />State Bonding Bill <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Ramsey County Cooperative Agreement, PUBW2023-05, for Construction and <br />Maintenance of Old Snelling Avenue North and County Rd E/Lake Johanna Blvd & <br />Design, Construction and Maintenance of Mounds View High School Trail. <br />Background/Discussion <br />This Agreement is between the City of Arden Hills and Ramsey County for the reconstruction of <br />the intersection of Old Snelling Avenue North and County Road E/Lake Johanna Boulevard <br />(Roundabout Project) and the construction of Mounds View High School Trail (MVHS Trail) on <br />Old Snelling Avenue (County State Aid Highway 76) between County Rd E2 and Lake <br />Valentine Road. The MVHS Trail project also includes constructing trail on Lake Valentine <br />Road, but the County is not involved in that portion of the project. The project location map is <br />shown in Attachment A. <br />The Cooperative and Maintenance Agreement is intended to define engineering, contract <br />administration, construction cost participation, ownership and maintenance responsibilities for <br />the Lexington Avenue project. A copy of the proposed agreement is provided in Attachment F. <br />Typically, these type of agreements with the County are brought to City Council earlier in the <br />project process, but the timing was delayed due to combining both projects into one agreement, <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
