He urged the City to get the assistance of the Sheriffs <br />Department to control the problem. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst noted the Staffhas contacted the Sheriffs Department. <br /> <br />Ms. Billie Schacht, 1683 West County Road F, indicated the Sheriffs Department had two cars <br />drive through at 8:30 a.m., but by that time the majority of the traffic had already gone. <br /> <br />Public Works Ventilation System <br /> <br />City Accountant Post indicated due to the increased safety awareness, it has been pointed out by <br />several people, including Don Zehm, a former State OSHA Compliance Officer, that the <br />Maintenance Building is in need of a ventilation/make up air system. <br /> <br />Public Works Superintendent Stafford indicated the City solicited bids for a complete job, which <br />would meet all codes and OSHA standards. The job would inelude all plumbing, electrical work, <br />duct work, and carpentry. <br /> <br />Mr. Stafford indicated of the four mechanical contractors contacted, three came out and did a <br />complete inspection of our maintenance building. All three returned bids ranging from $12,080 to <br />$23,190. <br /> <br />Mr. Stafford indicated Staff recommends the Council approve the bid from Apollo Heating and <br />Ventilating Corporation in the amount of $18,400.00 for a new make up air system for the Public <br />Works Maintenance Building. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Hicks moved, and Malone seconded a motion to accept bids and award bid to Apollo <br />Heating and Ventilation Corporation in the amount not to exceed $18,400.00 for a <br />new make up air system for the Public Works Maintenance Building. The motion <br />carried nnRnimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Mayor Probst indicated he realized the expenditure was large, but noted the City had no choice, <br />safety comes first. <br /> <br />Public Works Pickup Purchase <br /> <br />City Accountant Post noted the pickup had been budgeted, but this purchase would be above what <br />was budgeted. <br />
