Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 8C <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: December 11, 2023 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br />SUBJECT: 2024 City Contribution to Employee Monthly Benefits <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motion to approve, table or deny the following: <br />• Resolution 2023-058, setting the City Contribution to Employee Monthly Benefits for the <br />2024 benefit year. <br /> <br />Background <br />Each year, the City needs to review the employee benefit options for the coming year and set the <br />monthly contribution rates. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />The City is maintaining its current health and dental insurance provider, Health Partners, rate <br />increases for medical were approximately twelve percent, while dental did not see an increase (Staff <br />did ask NFP to compare rates to other providers and staying with Health Partners was the least <br />expensive). No changes were made to the Life, Short Term or Long Term Disability benefits. The <br />only change being proposed this year is for non-union employees on the family plan will see their <br />contribution go from $300 to $315 per month, which is a five percent increase. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br />The increases have been accounted for in the proposed 2024 budget. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Resolution 2023-058 <br /> <br />
