The motion carried nnll1limously (3-0). <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />CONSENT r.AI.RNllAR <br /> <br />MOTION: Hicks moved and Ap1ikowski seconded a motion to approve the Consent <br />Calendar and authorize execution of all necessary documents cont:rinPlf therein. <br />The motion carried nnAnimously (3-0). <br /> <br />Plml.lC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Probst opened the meeting to public comments. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Myers reported that children are not cared for by pa..eab at the Arden Manor <br />swimming pool. He requested that the pool be closed or certified. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that this issue will be addressed later in the agenda. There were no <br />further comments. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />NORTHWEST YOUTH &: FAMll.Y SERVIr.FS - BUDGET RH01JEST FOR <br />RIm -DING AND SHRVIr.R.~ <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Ciemia, Chair of the Board of Directors, Northwest Youth &: Family Services <br />(NYFS), introduced Kay Andrews, Executive Director and Dean Maschka, Chair, Capital <br />On'1p'.ign. NYFS is a private, non-profit agency committed to supporting the developmental <br />needs of youth and family within their community environment. NYFS was started 20 years <br />ago, and there are 10 suppoJtmg cities participating in the program. Arden Hills was served <br />in 1993 with over 400 hours of services. <br /> <br />Ms. Andrews descn1led the types of programs that are offered by NYFS: <br /> <br />Counseling Center: This center serves ages 3 to senior citizens. A key emphasis of <br />this program is on children and families. A new component, not reflected in 1993 <br />statistics, is working with families, who, for whatever reason are unable to come to <br />the center and need more intensive services through team visits. <br />
