NOVEMBER 17. 1994 3 I- Cormcil conCl.lITed as to Mr. Fritsinger's proposed review and reduction of applicants and I will meet further to give specific direction to the subcommittee for qualification guidelines. I VACANT CLERK/ADMINISTRATOR POSITION: APPLICATION REVIEW !POINT EVALUATION PROCESS I Acting Qerk Administrator Post indicated several applications have already been received with the deadline being November 25, 1994 and he expects additional I applications before then. I Mayor Probst inquired of the cormcil their wishes as to the process of selection, he recommended a two member committee to review applications and report to the other cormcilmembers. . Cormcilmembers Aplikowski and Keirn volrmteered to serve on this committee and would provide their guidelines for selection at the November 28, 1994, Regular City Ie Cormcil meeting. I Mayor Probst indicated at the November 28 meeting the cormcil could then comment and set a time frame for the selection process. I PAY EQUITY COMPLIANCE ISSUES AND ALTERNATIVES Mayor Probst indicated the necessity of planning the direction of the City so as to be I compliant with the regulations and to prevent penalties. . Mr. Post and Mr. Fritsinger presented information to the cormcil and indicated options. Councilmember Malone provided additional information regarding previous direction and solutions. I Discussion was held at length regarding issues and alternatives. Council indicated that I the staff proceed with the short term solution with the intention that the staff would go back to the plan strategies as set forth in 1991 for 1995 and follow through by managing the Pay Plan in the ensuing years to maintain compliance. I Mr. Fritsinger indicated an extension can be requested. Mayor Probst indicated as long .e as penalties are avoided. I
