Motion carriad unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Council questioned if the number of finance committee members is mandated by <br />Ordinance and if there were any other residents interested in serving on Finance <br />Committee; there are normally ten members. Staff was directed to research this <br />matter and report at the Regular Council Keeting held January 30, at which time <br />Council would appoint an individual to the remaining seat. <br /> <br />ACKNOWLEDGE COMM. <br />APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Sather recommended Mark Peterson be reappointed <br />to the Parks Committee. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Growe, that Council ratify the <br />Mayor's recommendation to reappoint Mark Peterson to the Parks Committee. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />PURCHASE COPIER <br /> <br />Council was referred to the memorandum from Deputy Clerk <br />Iago dated 1-5-89, relative to the purchase of a copier. <br /> <br />the expenditure <br />outlined in the <br />(4-0) <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Malone, that Council approve <br />of $5,940.00 as budgeted for the purchase of a copier, as <br />Deputy Clerk's memorandum of 1-5-89. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CLAIMS & PAYROLL <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Hansen. that Council approve <br />Claims and Payroll as submitted. Motion carried. (4-0) <br /> <br />LAND PURCHASE Clerk Administrator Berger reported on the land purchaae <br />of Parcel B located on Highway 96. adjacent to the Public <br />Works Building. in the amount of $128.700. He advised there is one parcel <br />remaining to complete the City land purchase agreement. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />CHARITABLE GAMB'LNG Councilmember Hansen suggested Council consider <br />including a provision in the proposed Charitable Gambling <br />Ordinance which requires a certain percentage of the profits be directed to the <br />City for parks or to benefit local organizations. neighboring communities or the <br />school district. She further suggested the Council should consider including a <br />provision which states priority be given to local organizations making <br />application for licensing. <br /> <br />Council requested the Clerk Administrator survey other cities to determine if <br />they have provisions in their gambling ordinances which give licensing priority <br />to local organizationa; he waa further requested to refer the information from <br />the survey and the Council discussion of this evening to the Attorney for his <br />recommendation and incorporation in the proposed Charitable Gambling Ordinance. <br /> <br />STOP SIGN; CO. RD. <br />F AND FERNWOOD <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone requestsd Public Works Supervisor <br />Raddatz remove the temporary stop sign located at the <br />intersection of County Road F and Fernwood Avenus. <br /> <br />MISC; MEETINGS Mayor Sather reminded Council of the Joint Meeting with <br />Shoreviewon 1/10/89, 7:30 p.m., at the Village Hall. <br />He further advised that the Finance Committee would be meeting in the Council <br />chambera on 1/26/89 and the interviews for Council appointment may be changed to <br />an earlier time or different location in the building. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by <br />adjourned at 8:30.p.m., <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />the meeting be <br />imously.
