Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve Resolution No. 89-04, Designation of Depositories and Corporation Authorization, with the inclusion of appropriate officials names. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) RES. #89-05; ADD'L DEPOSITORIES Hansen moved, seconded by Growe, that Council approve Resolution No. 89-05, Designation of Additional Depositories for Investment Purposes, deleting American Savings /; Loan Stockton, California, and St. Croix Valley Bank. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) RES. #89-06; DESIG. BROKERAGE FIRMS Hansen moved, seconded by Malone, that Council approve Resolution No. 89-06, Designating Brokerage Firms for Investment in Federal Government Instruments. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) RES. #89-07; TRANSFER FUNDS TELE. INSTRUC. Hansen moved, seconded by Growe, that Council approve Resolution No. 89-07, For Transfer of Funds by Telephonic Instructions, with the inclusion of appropriate names. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) RES. #89-08; SUMS OF MONEY Malone moved, seconded by Growe, that Council approve Resolution No. 89-08, Clarifying Sums of Money to be Levied for Levy Year 1989, Payable in 1990, and Amending Improvement Bond Series 2. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) the Levy on 1972 1989 COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS Council discussed the 1989 Committee appointments and directed staff to contact Ed Menze and Judy Stafford of the Finance Committee to determine if they wish to continue serving on the committee. Mayor Sather advised he would contact Mark Peterson of the Park /; Recreation Committee to determine if he wishes to continue serving on the committee. There was Council discussion relative to merging the Board of Appeals with Planning Commission; it was noted a Code amendment would be necessary to accomplish the merge and Malone recommended continuation of the Board of Appeals until such time as the matter can be further reviewed. Council also discussed reappointing William Bauer as Chair of the Arden Hills Cable Commission and liaison to the NSC Commission. It was determined the Cable Commission would have no further duties in the coming year and no other members would be appointed. , . . Moved by Malone, seconded by Growe, that Council approve the 1989 Committee Appointments as discussed and attached, further, direct staff to forward the appropriate letters and committee information to those residents newly appointed, reappointed and others who were not appointed at this time. .... Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) ~ REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR BLDING. INSPECTOR POSITION UPDATE Council was referred to a memorandum from the Clerk Administrator dated 12-30-88, relative to advertising for the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer position. Berger advised the current Building Inspector has requested to remain in the position until February 17, 1989, to complete the year-end report. He stated upon checking with other communities it was found that most compensate this position on the basis of 80% of the building permit fees. Berger requested he be able to further research the compensation plan for the position and make a recommendation at the January 9 Council meeting. ,
