<br /> MINUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />. .Monday, November 28, 1988. 7:30 p.m. - Village Hall <br /> CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn <br /> called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL The roll being called tha following members ware preaent: <br /> Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmember Nancy Hansen. Gary <br />. Peck, Thomas Sather and Newly-elected Councilmember JoAnn Growe. Also present: <br /> Attorney James Lynden, Treasurer Frank Green, Park Director John Buckley. Public <br /> Works Supervisor Robert Raddatz, Clerk Administrator Gary Berger and Deputy Clerk <br /> Catherine Iago. <br /> OATH OF OFFICE Mayor Woodburn administered the oath of office to <br /> newly-elected Councilmember JoAnn Growe and on behalf of <br /> the entire Council he welcomed Growe and offered congratulations on her election <br /> victory. <br /> APPROVE MINUTES Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve the <br /> Minutes of the Closed Council Meeting of November 1 and <br /> Regular Council Meeting of November 14, 1988 as submitted. Motion csrried <br /> unanimously. (5-0) <br /> BUSINESS FROM FLOOR None. <br /> REPORT OF PARK DIRECTOR <br /> PROP'D 1988/89 Council was referred to the proposed 1988/89 Winter <br /> WINTER PROGRAM Program submitted by Park Director Buckley. <br />. Buckley briefly reviewed the program and explained a new activity, Baton <br /> Twirling, had been added to the program. <br /> Council questioned if Karate Instruction had been deleted; Buckley advised he had <br /> deleted the program because it was difficult to obtain an instructor and ,there <br /> was not a significant response to the program. <br /> Sather moved, seconded by Peck. that Council approve the <br /> proposed 1988/89 Winter Park Program Activities as submitted. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. (5-0) <br /> OPENING ICE RINKS Park Director Buckley reported several citizens had <br /> contacted him relative to the schedule for opening the <br /> ice rinks in the City; he advised the rinks have not been flooded due to the lack <br /> of frost in the ground. Buckley explained that weather permitting the rinks <br /> should be ready for skating by the Christmas holiday. <br /> REPORT OF ENGINEER <br /> ROYAL HILLS STORM Council was referred to a memorandqm from Engineer Barry <br /> SEWER; AUTH. PREP. Peters dated 5-6-88, relative to alternatives for <br />I PLANS & SPEC'S correcting the arosion problem at the Royal Hilla North <br /> Addition drainage ditch. <br /> Public Works Supervisor Raddatz reported three alternatives for correcting the <br /> problem were outlined by Engineer Peters and Council had directed staff to budget <br /> funda for the project, Alternative #1. in 1989. He etated the Engineer had <br /> recommended the work be done in the winter months in order to reduce the extent <br /> of property damage from construction equipment and to allow for budgeting funds. <br /> Moved by Sather, seconded by Peck, that Council accept <br /> the Feasibility report prepared 5-6-88 by Engineer Peters and Authorize the <br /> Engineer to Prepare Plans and Specifications for the Royal Hills North Addition <br /> Storm Sewer project as outlined in Alternative HI in his memorandum. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR <br /> POND EXCAVATION; Council was referred to a memorandum from Raddatz dated <br /> 1498 ARDEN VIEW DR. 11-23-88, relative to the proposed pond excavation at. <br /> 1498 Arden View Drive. <br />. <br />
