<br />r <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, April 25, 1988. 7:30 p.m. - Village Hall <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn <br />called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL The roll being called the following members were present: <br />MaYOr Robert Woodburn, Councilmembers Nancy Hansen, Gary <br />Peck, Thomas Sather and Jeanne Winiecki. Also present: Engineer Barry Peters, <br />Treasurer Frank Green, Parks and Recreation Director John Buckley, Public Works <br />Supervisor Robert Raddatz, Clerk Administrator Patricia Morrison and Deputy Clerk <br />Catherine Iago. <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />Moved by Peck, seconded by Winiecki, that Council approve <br />the Minutes of the April II, 1988, Regular Council <br />Meeting, as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />CERTIFICATION; <br />DEPUTY eLK. IAGO <br /> <br />Council was referred to the Clerk Administrator's <br />memorandum of 4-21-88; ralative to the Deputy Clerk's <br />achieving Minnesota Municipal Clerks Certification. <br /> <br />Mayor Woodburn displayed the plaque given to Cathy at the MCFOA annual conference <br />in March of this year, and offered congratulations, on behalf of the Council, for <br />attaining the Minnesota Clerks certification. <br /> <br />Cathy thanked the Council for affording her the opportunity to complete the <br />certification program. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />FINAL READING; <br />ORD. NO. 257 <br />EMPLY. VACATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Woodburn read by Title Ordinance No. 257, Amending <br />Section 19.58 of the Arden Hills Code, pertaining to <br />Employee Vacations. <br /> <br />Moved by Hansen, seconded by Peck, that Council waive <br />final reading and adopt Ordinance No. 257, AMENDING SECTION 19.58 OF ARDEN HILLS <br />CODE BY CHANGING SUBSECTION (e) THEREOF AND BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION (f) <br />THERETO. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR <br /> <br />SUMMER PROGRAM <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />Council was referred to a memorandum from Parks Director <br />Buckley, outlining the 1988 Pro~Qsed Summer Program. <br /> <br />BUCkley reviewed the activities for children of various age groups and adults. <br /> <br />Councilman Peck suggested in the future Buckley provide an overhead outline of <br />the programs for Cable viewers; Buckley advised he would do so. <br /> <br />Sather moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve the <br />1988 Summer Program for Parks and Recreation, as aubmitted by the Parks Director. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />SPRING/SUMMER & <br />MAINT. PERSONNEL <br /> <br />Council was referred to a memorandum from Parks Director <br />Buckley, 4-21-88, recommending seasonal personnel to be <br />hired for the Spring/Summer Programs and Maintenance. <br /> <br />Council questioned the pay scale for Youth Softball/T-Bal1 Officials and Adult <br />Softball League Officials. <br /> <br />Buckley explained the youth officials are college students and usually instruct <br />the children, as well as officiate. He advised the Adult Softball Officials per <br />game rate is set by the Association, is lower than ,other communities pay and <br />noted that the officials travel from Blaine to officiate the games. <br /> <br />Sather'moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve the <br />1988 Spring/Summer Program and Maintenance Personnel, as outlined by Parks <br />Director Buckley in his memorandum of 4-21-88. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />
