<br />MINUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, February 29, 1988, 7:00 p.m. - Village Hall <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn <br />called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL The roll being called the following members were present: <br />Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmembers Gary Peck and <br />Jeanne Winiecki. Councilmember Nancy Hansen arrived at 8:30 p.m. Absent: <br />Councilmember Thomas Sather. Also present: Engineers Donald Christoffersen and <br />Barry Peters, Treasurer Frank Green, Parks Director John Buckley, Public Works <br />Supervisor Robert Raddatz, Clerk Administrator Patricia Morrison and Deputy Clerk <br />Catherine Iago. <br /> <br />CLOSED MTG; LBR. <br />NEGOTIATIONS <br /> <br />Council discussed labor negotiations at a closed meeting <br />between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />1988, as submitted. <br /> <br />Moved by Peck, seconded by Winiecki, that Council approve <br />the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of February 8, <br />Motion carried unanimously. (3-0) <br /> <br />AMEND AGENDA Council concurred that Item 8A., Water Meter Reading, <br />Siems Court, be deleted from the Agenda; the matter was <br />resolved prior to the meeting. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORD. AMENDMENT; <br />DRIVEWAY WIDTHS <br /> <br />Council was referred to the Attorney's draft of an <br />Ordinance amendment to the Zoning Code,which provides new <br />standards for driveway widths. <br /> <br />Mayor Woodburn read the Ordinance title; Clerk Administrator advised that the <br />amendment was prompted by the MnDot application to expand the truck station sita <br />on County Road I. She explained the Planner surveyed the County and State <br />requirements for driveway widths and found they were uniform; the Planner and <br />Planning Commission members recommended Council consideration of an amendment to <br />the Ordinance which would bring the City standards into conformance with County <br />and State requirements. <br /> <br />Moved by Peck, seconded by Winiecki, that Council approve <br />the Introduction by Title of Ordinance No. 255, AMENDING SECTION VI.G (3) OF <br />APPENDIX A-ZONING OF ARDEN HILLS CODE BY SUBSTITUTING NEW STANDARDS FOR DRIVEWAY <br />WIDTHS. Motion carried unanimously. (3-0) <br /> <br />ORD. AMENDMENT; <br />REZONING, MN/DOT <br />TRUCK STATION, <br />COUNTY ROAD I <br /> <br />Council was referred to the Attorney's draft of an <br />Ordinance to Rezone the MnDot Truck Station site at the <br />Northwest corner of the Twin Cities Ordnance Plant on <br />County Road I, from R-l to 1-2. <br /> <br />~ Mayor Woodburn read the Ordinance title and explained the rezoning was Council <br />initiated, as recommended by the Planner and Planning Commission, due to the <br />minor expansion of the MnDot Truck Station and to bring the srea into conformity <br />with the adjacent land. <br /> <br />Moved by Peck, seconded by Winiecki, that Council approve <br />the Introduction by Title of Ordinsnce No. 256, REZONING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION TRUCK STATION SITE FROM R-1 TO 1-2, AT NORTHWEST CORNER OF TWIN <br />CITIES ORDNANCE PLANT. Motion carried unanimously. (3-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF PARKS DIRECTOR <br /> <br />RES. #88-11; TENNIS <br />CT. NO. SNELLING PK. <br /> <br />Council was referred to the Parks Director's memorandum <br />of 2/26/88, which outlined the specifications for the <br />construction of the North Snelling tennis court and <br />basketball court. <br /> <br />Buckley explained the Planner had reviewed the specifications to verify the <br />insurance coverage was correct, materials and workmanship top-grade. He noted <br />only one court will fit satisfactorily on the site; two were originally proposed. <br /> <br />.4It The Parks Director outlined the time-table for the project: 3/9 and 3/16/88 - Bid <br />advertisement; 3/22/88 - Bid opening; 3/28/88 - Award bid; he requested Council <br />approval of the plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids. <br />
