PROPOSED STREET CONSTRUCTION (continued)
.
appears that it would be impossible to get the concurrence of the City of
Arden Hills to resolve this question in the near future.
Catch basins should be reconstructed on the Snelling Avenue Frontage Road
end and new catch basins constructed on the Hamline Avenue end of the
project. Modifications to the existing open drainage ditch to the north
should be made at the same time the road is done. All driveways appear to
be in conformance, and no trees would have to be removed.
PROJECT P-86-29. ASBURY STREET
Due to the fact that the east side of the roadway for a portion of its
length is higher than the west side, the crown on the roadway will be
warped and will actually have the east side of the road higher than the
west side in this area. The fairly flat grades make it preferable to
extend the existing storm drain facility from Brenner Avenue southerly
approximately 250 feet. There a pair of new catch basins would be
constructed to pick up the drainage. It currently appears that one 24"
elm tree would have to be removed as part of this project.
. PROJECT P-86-31, SHELDON STREET
No trees are anticipated to be removed as part of this project.
PROJECT P-86-32 PASCAL STREET
- Since this roadway is being used as part of a HIC bus route, it will be
necessary to construct it to a heavier standard than normal. Additional
asphalt would be placed for this roadway. No trees are expected to be
removed.
PROJECT P-86-33, ARONA STREET/CENTENNIAL DRIVE
The cul-de-sac at the far east end of Centennial Drive would be
constructed into a more conventiona! round bulb. This would require
acquiring a small triangUlar piece of right-of-way to convert the tee
shaped cul-de-sac into a round shape. The portion of Arona Street which
extends southerly of Centennial Drive would be essentially removed with
the exception of a 10 foot wide bituminous emergency access lane leading
to the Comten property.
Four trees at the cul-de-sac location would have ,to be removed and
additional catch basins constructed along the outer edge, so the drainage
could go away from the cul-de-sac. At least one very steep driveway may
. have to be constructed for much of its length in order to get better
grades.
9
