eX Ci If
MEkORANDUM -
. ----------------,~---------------------------------------------------------
Date: September 24, 1987
To: Arden Hills Council
From: Ervin A. Oelke, Landscape Insp~ctor
Re: Initial Landscape Inspection - Northpark Corporate Center
III, 8 Pine tree Drive
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The initial landscape inspection was made on September 24 at the Northpark
Corporate Center III building. The plant material was found to be of
excellent stock and planted according to the landscape plan. There was no
missing plant material, according to the landscape drawing. However, two
Anthony Waterer Spirea were dead on the south side, and one Japanese Red
Leaf Barberry was dead on the northwest corner of the building. The dead
plant material is noted on the landscape plan. The top half of the 10'
Austrian Pine on the southwest corner of the building was dead and is
indicated by a red circle on the landscape plan. Two Austrian Pine in the
existing plants on the west berm of the property were dead.
A few substitutions were made. A Marshall Ash was substituted for the
. Sugar Maple on the northwest corner. White Paper Birch was substituted
for the four River Birch clumps. Both of these substitutions are good,
and should not detract from the landscape. Three Austrian Pine evergreens
were added on the northwest corner of the building. These make a nice
addition to the landscape plan.
The landscape was well maintained. All shrub areas were edged and had 4"
of 1-1/2" washed aggregate over 6 mil poly.
I recommend the approval of the landscape plan after the two dead Anthony
Waterer Spirea and the one Japanese Red Leaf Barberry are replaced. I
would also recommend that the one Austrian Pine that is dead on the top be
replaced.
.
-----
