(612)646-8172 <br />October 8, 1987 <br />TO: City Managers/Clerk Administrators, City Council <br />FROM: Eootsie Anderson ~~ <br /> Cable Administrator <br />RE: October 1 NSCC/NSAC Meeting <br />Enclosed you will find the statistics as distributed by Cable TV North Central at the <br />Regular meeting of the North Suburban Cable Commission and North Suburban Access <br />Corporation on October 1, 1987. <br />There were two pertinent issues discussed at this meeting: <br /> l. Placement of the Regional Channel on a temporary location until December I, <br /> 1987 at which time the cable company intends to add six channels and <br /> re-position several other channels. The news channels ar~ as follows: The <br /> Travel Channel, The Fashion Channel, Pay-Per-View II, The Photo Channel, <br /> Cable Value Network and a Pay-Per-View Preview Channel. <br /> Expect some confusion from citizens as a result of the December 1 <br /> changes. The cable company has announced its intention to raise <br /> the basic rate at the same time. <br /> The Regional Channel Can be found on channel 36 until December 1st when <br /> it will be given its proper positioning on channel 6. (See enclosed <br /> brochure for an explanation of the Regional Channel concept.) <br /> 2. The incompletion of the Interactive Network issue was responded to by <br /> the cable company. After some discussion, Cable TV North Central <br /> agreed that the Interactive Network was not built as per the franchise <br /> agreement by the former system owners (Group W Cable, Inc.). The <br /> Commission directed staff (administrator, attorney and consultant) to <br /> enter into negotiations as to the most beneficial and cost effective <br /> means of completion of the I-Net.
