E and Old Snelling Ave. <br />The Contract is amended as follows: <br />CHANGE ORDER 7 <br />Contractor's Address: <br />1520 Commerce Dr. <br />Mendota Heights, MN 55120 <br />Project Description: <br />Road Reconstruction <br />SUPPLEMENTAL TO <br />CONTRACT CCO03151 <br />Attachment C <br />State Aid Project No. <br />S.A.P.062-676-006 <br />Account No. <br />P - 3420 <br />The MVHS Trail project (SAP 187-108-004) converted the outside southbound lane of Old Snelling Avenue from a thru lane to an <br />off -road bike trail from Sta. 36+00 to 47+00. Sheet 55 and 56 of the Plans shows proposed storm sewer installation adjacent to and <br />underneath the new trail. When performing removals for the new storm sewer and trail section, the Contractor encountered the <br />following existing pavement section in SB Old Snelling: 8" of concrete pavement, 6" of soil, another 8" section of concrete <br />pavement, overlaid by varying thickness of bituminous pavement. The Plans did not identify the concrete pavement and only <br />included pay item for bituminous pavement removal. <br />The Engineer re -designed the storm sewer to minimize disturbance to the existing pavement. The Engineer directed the Contractor <br />to remove the full -depth pavement section in order to install the storm sewer per the revised design and replace the void space (up to <br />the bottom of the proposed trail section) with Aggregate Base Class 5. The Engineer measured the area of removed concrete <br />pavement (each slab), volume of material excavated between the two concrete pavement sections, and volume of Class 5 material <br />used to replace the removed pavement.
