Trustee Hoffmann reported that he did visit <br />the area and disagreed with the New Brighton exterminator's opinion that <br />this ares of Arden HIlls Is conducive to rat breeding; he stated that he <br />.found the premises most orderly and there definItely Is a problem. How- <br />ever, he stated the 'I' there Is 8 building adJacent to the Yopma property <br />which he believes should be demolIshed BS he believes that this could be <br />a hiding place for the rats. Mr. Yepma Informed the CouncIl that this <br />buIlding Is owned by the o~ners of the nearby root beer stand. <br /> <br />ActIng Mayor Crepeau Informed theresldants that a latter, dated August 5, <br />1966, ~as ~rltten to the New Brighton Councl! requesting remedial aco~lon <br />regarding the rat problem and also a gas problem orIginating from this <br />dump; a reply had been received from the Village Manager stating thot they <br />are aware of the problems and will attempt to. correct It. <br /> <br />Mr. PertY!(/1 stated that he has lived In this area for 15 years ~11t'lout <br />seeing a rat but has. recently caught two of t~em. and the breedIng <br />grounds must be controlled. <br /> <br />trustee Hoffmann recommended that the owner of the prevlouslv mentIoned <br />building be notified ~fthe situation, and We should get con'Irmatlon <br />from New Brighton that no garbage Is being dumped at the NSl~ Brlghto11 <br />.dump; he recommended that both metters be referr~d to the VIllage Health <br />Officer. <br /> <br />Mrs. Robert Mulroy, 2037 Mounds Avenue, Informed the COMncl1 that she <br />. was present at o~he Naw Br I ghton Counc I I m0et 10.9 of I CISt Tuesday and p resent- <br />-- ed the rat problem and a'so showed them pictures of the remains of rats <br />found In the area. She stated that the New~rlghton Council did not deny <br />thet garbage was being dumped there and she has' proof that three trucks <br />from the cities dump garbage at this site ....sometlmes sol" 2:00 a.m. Mrs. <br />Mulroy Informed the council that the letter from Arden Hills was noy rsad <br />at the New Brighton CouncIl meetIng. <br /> <br />A!:tlng May.or Crepeau stated 'thet perhaps Dr..
