<br />~ -~ <br /> <br />. -- <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL <br />~ VIlLAGE OF ARQEN HILLS <br />Monday - Januat-Y 10, 1966 <br /> <br />MEETING <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Nethercut at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present - Mayor Nethercut, Trustees Hoffmann, Crepeau, <br />Dlmen and BJorndahl. <br />Absent - None <br />Also Present - Village Attorney VIncent P. Courtney, <br />Engineer Donald Lund, Treasurer Worth G. <br />Read, Heating Inspector Virgil Keller, <br />Administrative Clerk LorraIne Stromquist <br />and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of December 27, 1965, were <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />....Buslness from the Floor <br /> <br />VirgIl Keller, Heating Inspector, Informed the Council of a request <br />from Charles Neitzel to Install three chimneys for the double bungalow <br />he Is constructing on County Road 0; these chImneys are not In accordance <br />wIth the OrdInance and would requIre a variance approval from the CouncIl. <br />There was discussIon by the CouncIl, Mr. Keller and Mr. J05. McKeon, an <br />Interested resident concerning the various types of chImney construction. <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Olmen, that al I three chIm- <br />neys be of the metal asbestos type; motion carrIed. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY COURTNEY <br /> <br />Husbv Contract <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Informed the Council that the Husby contract has been <br />signed and he has checked wIth the County Assessor's office to determIne <br />the status of the taxes. He was Informed that the taxes will be abated <br />3= the transaction was completed In 1965. However, the apportIonment <br />resolution should be prepared. Matter referred to Attorney Courtney <br />and Engineer Don Lund. <br /> <br />Peifer Easement <br /> <br />Clerk LorraIne StromquIst Informed Attorney Courtney that the PeIfer <br />easement check for $250.00 was ready. Attorney Courtney informed the CouncIl <br />that he had an appoIntment with the Pelfers after this meeting to close <br />the trans~ctlon and wouldr therefore, leave the meeting early If possIble. <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee BJorndahl, that the PeIfer <br />easement check be approved; motIon carried. <br /> <br />CummlnQs Lane street Improvement <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Inform~d the CouncIl that the 6 month period for CouncIl <br />action concerning the Cummings Lane Street Improvement will expIre thIs <br />month. Attorney Courtney read a Resolution as prepared by him ordering <br />Street Improvement No.7 (CummIngs Lane). Trustee elmen moved adoptIon <br />of the resolution, as attached, secon ded by Trustee Crepeau; motIon <br />carried. . <br /> <br />The Council authorized BanIster EngineerIng Company to prepare the <br />plans and specIfications for the Improvement. <br /> <br />I "'P.~2d VacatIon <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Informed the CouncIl that he has receIved a new <br />petItIon which Includes the Hansonts sIgnatures requesttng the vaca- <br />tion of a road easement on the Hanson property. He stated that every- <br />thIng Is now In order for a publIc hearIng, and he has prepared a resolu- <br />tIon se~lng the date of the publIc hearIng for January 31. <br /> <br />Trustee Hoffmann Informed the CouncIl that the PlannIng Commission has <br />recommended that the easement not be vacated until further study Is given <br />the matter by the CommIssIon. Tbe CommIssion also would like to meet <br />wIth the VIllage Engineer concernIng the matter. Attorney Courtney <br />advIsed goIng ahead with the publIc hearIng and suggested delayIng CouncIl <br />actIon untIl further study. <br /> <br />Mayor Nethercut suggested settIng <br />but Trustee BJorndahl stated that <br />the loan on the property and thIs <br /> <br />the publIc hearIng date on February 14, <br />Mr. Hanson Is havIng a problem wIth <br />delay would further 1nconvenlence hlm~ <br />. -1- <br />
