REQUESr 'IWO Council was referred to a memorandum from Public Works ADDTIIONAL SUpervisor Winkel dated 4-5-90, requestin;)' two additional TELEPHONE LINES telephone lines be installed at the City Hall. Winkel advised he was representin;)' staff and reviewed the difficulties errployees in= to maintain open telephone lines. He stated the additional phone lines are not budgeted in the 1990 hJdget and recommended the Oller budget costs be charged to Government Buildin;)'s. ~lone moved, secarrled by Mahowald, to apprOlle the installation of two (2) additional telephone lines at the City Hall. Motion carried unanimously. (3-0) RECYCLING DAY Council was referred to a memorandum from the Clerk CHANGE; EVERY Administrator dated 4-5-90, recommending a change WEDNESDAY in the recyclin;)' day from Tuesday, biweekly, to Wednesday on a weekly J::asis. Berger explained his initial =ncerns regardin;)' the prop::>sed recyclin;)' day change and reviewed the rationale offered by E-Z Recyclin;)' for improved service due to the day change and a weekly =llection schedule. Council =ncurred the weekly =llection schedule is very appealin;)' and suggested that staff IrBke a strong effort to promote the change and notify residents. . Malone moved, seconded by Mahowald, to approve the change in the recyclin;)' days and amend the current =ntract with E-Z Recyclin;)' to reflect the change beginnin;)' the first Wednesday in May and to =ntinue every Wednesday thereafter, and that the current contract with E-Z Recyclin;)' be forwarded to the city AttoD1ey for preparation of the contract amendment. Motion carried unanimously. (3-0) COUNCIL cx::MMENTS APEDlliT CHAIR; Council1nernber Malone requested the appoinbnent of Carl FINANCE Rundquist as Olair of the Finance conunittee. Mayor COMMITI'EE Sather concurred with the app::>inbnent as requested. Malone moved, seconded by Mahowald, to ratify the Mayor's app::>inbnent of Carl Rundquist as Olair of the Finance Committee and directed staff to notify Rundquist of the app::>intJnent. Motion carried unanimoUSly.
