Berger, City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Abandon~d Drums - Kem Milling site <br /> - <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> Attached is a proposal from Darrell Oman, Delta Environmental <br /> Consultants, Inc. , regarding abandoned drum disposal management <br /> at the Kem Milling site. As Council will note, this work was <br /> not included in the November 9, 1989, site demolition work plan, <br /> and estimated additional costs for this work will range from <br /> $4-$6,000. <br /> Mr. Oman will be present at the meeting to answer any Council <br /> questions on this matter. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> ~ Staff recommends the expenditure of additional funds to cover <br /> this work project. <br /> ACTION REQUIRED: <br /> If Council concurs with the staff recommendation, they should <br /> pass a motion authorizing an expenditure of up to $6,000 to: <br /> 1. Inventory the abandoned drums according to type, condition, <br /> and suspected contents. <br /> 2 . Segregate the drums to a more secure area on the site to <br /> facilitate continuation of the demolition activities. <br /> 3. Sample and chemically analyze individual drum contents. <br /> 4.
