Berger, City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Increase in Mileage Reimbursement <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> Staff has received from the League of Minnesota cities, the <br /> attached list of 24 metropolitan cities with their mileage <br /> reimbursement rates. Rates range from Arden Hills and Prior <br /> Lake's rate of .20 cents per mile, to Blaine and Map1ewood's rate <br /> of .26 cents per mile. The average rate of these cities is .24 <br /> cents per mile for use of an employee's personal vehicle while on <br /> City business. The last mileage rate increase was approved in <br /> 1981, when the rate increased from 18.5 cents to .20 cents per <br /> mile. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br />. In order to keep on par with other metropolitan cities, staff <br /> recommends increasing the mileage reimbursement rate from .20 <br /> cents per mile, to the average metropolitan rate of .24 cents per <br /> mile, effective immediately. <br /> ACTION REQUIRED: <br /> If Council concurs with the staff recommendation, they should <br /> pass a motion, under Consent, approving an increase in mileage <br /> reimbursement from .20 cents per mile to .24 cents per mile, <br /> effective immediately. <br /> GRB:madlr <br /> attachment <br />. <br />
