.
(Revised Plan) wehrman
PLANNING MEMO bergly
. To: Arden Hills Planning Commission llQQ5da'es
From: Wehrman Bergly Associates, Inc.
John Bergly, Planning Consultant
Subject: Case #90-09
Site Plan Review for
Racquet Sports Courts at n. plaza bldg., sle. 220
5217 wayzata blvd.
4155 Lexington Avenue North minneapolis, mn 55416
Applicant: Oennis and Patricia Foster 6125447576
1415 Arden Oaks Drive
Date: September 5, 1990
BACKGROUND:
This case was discussed at two Planning Commission meetings, with a
recommendation for approval on August 1. The recommendation contained
the conditions that the plan be returned to the Planning Commission for
review of exterior building materials before building permits were
issued and that all future development be brought back to the City for
site plan approval.
On August 13, the City Council reviewed the proposal and took action to
table, instructing the applicant to prepare plans for the permanent
structures and resolve any outstanding issues (such as landscaping,
. access, lighting and fire marshal requirements). Staff determined that
the Planning Commission should review these issues in their final form
in order to send a completed package with the recommendation to the
Council .
Because earlier reviews discussed most of the details of the proposal,
this review will summarize only those issues that previously were
incomplete or issues that received particular attention at the Council
meeting.
ACTIONS REQUIRED:
1. Accept the air-supported structures as an acceptable structure for
the intended use.
Previous action by the City in a similar recreation proposal
treated these structures as a departure from standard, accepted
development and took special action to approve them. (Not a
special use permit.)
2. Accept the development concept.
a. First stage development:
1) Permanent building containing reception area, locker
. rooms, administrative offices and four racquet ball
courts.
planning . landscape architecture
