Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, october 29, 1990 <br /> Page 5 <br /> SURVEY (Cont'd) After discussion, Council =n=ed to direct staff to <br />. distribute the written report regarding the survey <br /> results to Councilrnernber and the City Hall Committee as soon as possible, and <br /> request a representative from Decision Resources be present at the November 26 <br /> Regular Council Meeting to review the infonnation. <br /> STATUS REPORT i Councillnernber Malone reJXlrted on the Finance Committee <br /> FINANCE cn.lMI'ITEE meeting; =ently reviewing utility rates and proposed <br /> financing for the Water Tower illlprovements. <br /> SI'REEI' LIGHI' Councillnernber Hansen suggested the letters received from <br /> RB;;RJESTS residents requesting street lights be forwarded to the <br /> Public Safety/Wm-ks Committee. <br /> KEITHSON POND Counci1inernber Malone referred to discussion of the <br /> Keithson Pond problems at the 10/22/90 Council <br /> Worksession and wished to clarify the fact that residents will be notified of. <br /> action taken to ==ect the problems with the JXlnd, but not necessarily prior to <br /> the action being taken. He stated the residents involved may misinterpret the <br /> discussion and the city has the authority to take ==ective actions whenever <br /> necessary, not subject to notification of the residents. <br /> Mayor Sather recalled advising the residents the city would infonn them of <br /> ==ective actions taken on the pond, either by telephone or copies of <br /> ==espondence and agreed the city does not have the obligation to notify the <br /> residents prior to beg'inning the ==ective action. <br />. AIR QUALITY Councillnernber Hansen questioned if the city has received <br /> BOARD any mor complaints. <br /> Clerk Administrator Berger stated no complaints have been received regarding mor <br /> in the last nine months. <br /> RCWD APPOIN'IMENT Councillnernber Hansen advised there are two vacancies <br /> SANDE & WELTZIN for apJXlintment to the Rice Creek Watershed District <br /> Board; Gerald Sande has expressed interest in the Board. <br /> Hansen suggested Roberta Weltzin for appointment and advised she has not <br /> =ntacted Weltzin to =nfinn interest. She questioned if Council would have any <br /> objections to Weltz in and explained she will =ntact her to discuss the <br /> appointment and report at a future meeting. <br /> Council expressed no objections to Hansen pursuing this matter. <br /> BrA'IUS REPORT; Councillnernber Hansen questioned the status of the hiring <br /> ACCOUNTANT HIRE process for the new city A=untant position. <br /> The Clerk Administrator advised employment advertisements were placed in the st. <br /> Paul and Minneapolis Newspapers, as well as several goverrn:nent organizations <br /> publications . <br />. RECYCLING Mayor Sather questioned if a staff person is =ently <br /> OJORDINA'IDR serving as the "recycling coordinator". <br /> Berger advised the fonner Public Works SUpervisor handled the recycling <br /> coordination and it has been handled by the Clerk on an occasional basis. <br /> - ------ <br />
