The purpose of
our investigation was to evaluate the subsurface soils in
regard to their relative permeabilities.
BACKGROUND
Lot 5 of the Keithson Addition is currently occupied by a
shallow pond roughly 50 feet wide, situated between two
single-family residences. The residences rest upon graded
pads which were elevated between 4 and 6 feet above the pond
bottom. The ground surface between the pond and the house
pads slopes at a gradient of about 4:1
(horizontal:vertical). At the time of our investigation,
water in the pond appeared to be less than 2 feet deep. The
pond was overgrown with tall reeds.
You have indicated the water level within the pond
periodically rises to an elevation close to that of the
adjacent residences. Because the pond does not apparently
.
