One floating holiday, (except probationary employees). <br /> <br />When New Year's Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day or <br />Christmas Day fall on Sunday, the following Monday shall be a <br />holiday. When New Year's Day, Independence Day; Veteran's <br />Day or Christmas Day fall on Saturday, the preceding Friday <br />shall be a holiday. Floating holidays must have prior <br />approval of the employee's supervisor. <br /> <br />SECTION 19-20 SEVERANCE PAY. Regular full-time employees who <br />have completed ten (10) or more years of continuous service <br />with the City and who are leaving the City's employment in <br />good standing will receive a percentage of their unused <br />accumulated sick leave upon retirement or lay-off. This <br />severance pay benefit will be 33 1/3% of the employee's <br />unused accumulated sick leave to a maximum benefit of forty <br />(40) days (320 hours) of pay. <br /> <br />SECTION 19-21 RESIGNATION. An employee leaving the municipal <br />service in good standing shall give fourteen (14) calendar <br />days advance written notice of resignation to the employee's <br />immediate supervisor. <br /> <br />... The employee shall be compensated for accumulated unused <br />vacation leave provided that the employee has a minimum of <br />one (1) complete year of continuous service. Failure to give <br />the required advance notice may be cause for denying future <br />employment in the municipal service. <br /> <br />Unauthorized absences from work for a period of three (3) <br />consecutive work days shall be considered resignation without <br />proper notice, unless extenuating circumstances preclude the <br />employee from notifying his/her supervisor. <br /> <br />SECTION 19-22 RETIREMENT. The retirement of city employees <br />shall be in accordance with federal and state statutes. At <br />the discretion of the city Administrator and subject to <br />periodic re-evaluation, an extension for a period of time to <br />be determined by the city Administrator may be granted beyond <br />the mandatory retirement age. Such extension shall be <br />considered on an individual basis upon written request of the <br />employee. To be considered for an extension, an employee <br />must demonstrate competency and fitness for duty in all <br />aspects of job performance. <br /> <br />-14- <br /> <br /> <br />. <br />
