North G. head, <br />Heating Inspector Virgil Keller and EngIneers <br />Donaald Lund and Roger Short from Banister <br />Engineering Co. <br /> <br />Tha minutes of the Special Council Meeting of August 16. 1965, were <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Little Lea ue Troph Presentation <br />Mayor enne Y accepte in behalf of the Village. a trophy presented <br />by James Lang which was won b;y- the LitUe League Tigers by winning <br />the local championship and going on to win the 6hampionship of the <br />greater St. Paul area. Mr. Lang Stated that he hoped this trophy <br />would be the first of many. <br /> <br />Appointment of Council Member <br />Trustee Crereau recommended that Dr. Rob.t, Bjorndahl, 1171 In~e?son <br />hoad, be consl.dered as a replacement; fur ::i'. Lang, There WC1'e <br />no other recommendations from the Council. <br /> <br />Trustee Crepeau moved. seconded by Trustee Netl1crcut. that Dr. .hobt, <br />Bjorndahl. be a~pointed a member of the Council to fill the unexpired <br />term of iiLt'. Lang; mot.iGn.carried. <br />-. .! <br /> <br />Atty, Salland administered the oath of office to Dr. Bjorndahl and <br />Trustee Bjorndahl took his place at the Council table. <br /> <br />Mayor ~etnedy then"stated that Trustee Bjorndahl would assume <br />Mr. ~ang's Committee. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Rezonin of NorthWest Corner of Hi "hwa #96 and FAl 35W from R=2 <br />esidential to Co~ercial. <br />Mayor Kennedy dedlared the hearine open and requested opinions pro <br />~nd con on the matter. <br /> <br />Chester Partyka, 4676 Highway #8 - a resident for 18 years. inq~ired <br />as to the exact location of the prOposed rezoning. He and three <br />other persons checked the area as drawn on the map by Bagr. Lund, <br /> <br />Trustee Netherout infonned them th~t a servioe station has been <br />proposed for this area. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />Mr. Partyka voiced his objeotions to such an establishment. because <br />of commercial lighting which wC4j.ld bother the residents end alsoGlle <br />possibility of an inadequate buffer zone or screening. <br /> <br />Mayor ~nnedy informed the residents that the Planning Commission <br />has recol'nll!ended tha t this al'ea be rezoned COL,.mercial because of the <br />freeway and this would be probably be accomplished in a matter of <br />time. pOssibly wi thin 10 years. <br /> <br />A representative from the Phillips ietroleum Co. was present and <br />explained that hecause of the area being located at a prime inter- <br />section, the surrounding property will become muChmol'e valuable for <br />resale for commercial or industrial property. Mayor Aennedy agreed <br />that this land could become quite valuable. <br /> <br />~l~ <br />
