Trustees Nethercut, CrepeauJ <br />Olmen and Lang <br />Absent = None <br />Also Present = Administrative Clerk Lorraine Stromquist, <br />Atty. Vincent P. Courtney, Engro Donald Lund. <br />Treas. Worth G. Head and Building Insp. Clay <br />Kelley. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the ref,u1ar council meeting of July 12, 1905, were <br />approved as SUbmitted. <br /> <br />PUBLIC llli./\.R ING <br />Sewer Improvement #8 and Street Improvement #7 (Cummin~s Lane) <br />Mayor Kennedy informed the residents that these i provements were <br />initiated by the Council and Attyo Courtney stated that the necessary <br />notices were published and sent to the property owners. <br /> <br />Mayor Kennedy then requested the residents to voice th"ir opinions <br />and there was no opposition to the improvements. <br /> <br />Roger Erickson, 1377 Cummings Lene, and Gerald Skildum. 3419 Glen= <br />arden RoAd. presented similar inquiries concerning detached prOpsl'ty <br />located on low peat groul,d which they felt were nO'G really buildable <br />lots. Mayor Kennedy explained that it WaS the underst~nding of <br />the Council that the detached properties would not be included in <br />the improvements and this WaS confirmed by En!'::r. Donald Lund; l1o':'i= <br />ever Mayor Kennedy informed the residents that if they so desil'edc <br />plans could be revised to include these areas. The l'esidents fel';; <br />they did not want to have service to these properties" <br /> <br />Mayor Kennedy de~lal'ed the hearing closed. <br /> <br />Mayor stated that bids for the sewer improvement only had been <br />:received at the Village Hall this afternoon. <br /> <br />-.. <br /> <br />Engr. Don Lund reported that five bids had been received, as attached~ <br />The lowest bid was from Nod1und Construction COo. Alexandria. Minn., <br />in the amount of $14.790.00; however, their bid stated a completion <br />date of Dec. 15. 1965 = the completion date stated in the plans ~nG <br />specifications was Sept. 3. 1965. Atty. Courtney determined trlat <br />this variance was sufficient to disqualify the bid and infol:'meo. the <br />Council that they could either re-advertise for bids OT give the <br />contract to the next lowest biddel', which would be McDonald=Luban <br />& Assoco. St. Paul. Minn., who submitted a bid of 0100032.00. <br /> <br />Engr. Don Lund assured the Council that McDonaldQLuben ~ Assoco <br />is qualified to do the work. <br /> <br />At this time, John Sellick. Richard OiKelly. Jerome Ti~m and HOWard <br />Wallace. Cummings Lane residents. and Jack Counts. 3272 Snelling <br />Ave.>> appeared. Mayor Kennedy informed these residents of the disQ <br />cuesion being held end asked them to voice their opinions on th8 <br />improvement. .All were in favor of the project, bu'h inquirelil aa ';;0 <br />the area involved. Engr. Don Lund informed them that both sides <br />of the freeway were included; the pipe alread was installed under <br />the highway and connections are to be made at both ends. <br /> <br />~.--- <br /> <br />Trustee Lang moved, seconded by Trustee Crepeau. that S~wer ImproveQ <br />ment #8 be ordered; motion carried. <br /> <br />=1= <br /> <br />,. <br />~ <br />
