Trustees Nethercut, Crepeau: <br />Olmen and Lang. <br />Absent ~ None <br />Also Present 0 Administrative Clerk Lorral~8 Stromquist. <br />Atty. Vincent P. Courtney, Engr. Donald Lund. <br />,Building Inspector Clay Kelley and Treas. Worth <br />Go Haad. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of May 24, 1965, were <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Dairy Queen Request ' . <br />Dairy Queen of New Brighton had requested permission or a license to <br />operate a mobile unit in the Village to sell packaged products, no <br />representatio!:).f.l;'Qm llairy-,Queen was present at the meebing. Atty. <br />COU.'Ptney reported that, it\would be possible to issue such a license <br />under Ordinance No. 12. but, in his opinion, the safety factor should <br />be studied by the Police Dept. He also informed ~.e Council th"t <br />St. PaUl has a specific ordinance for ice cream and confection t~uckso <br />Village Ordinance No. 12 would not provide an opportunity to check <br />where the food is prepared when the vendor is mobile. <br /> <br />Mayor Kennedy read a letter fIOm the Village of hoseville which <br />informed the Council that it is considering an Ordinance to control <br />mobile vendors. and is interested in the method to be used by Arden <br />Hills. <br /> <br />".. <br /> <br />Mayor Kennedy stated that he does not believe it the best way to Dsll <br />merchandise, that the unit would naturally spend most or the time at <br />the beach area which already has a traffic problem, that a concession <br />stand is already located there wnich is apparently adeqUate. He is <br />in favor of an ordinance prohibiting such vending. <br /> <br />Trustee Crepeau agreed with Mayor Kennedy regarding B p~ohibitive <br />ordinance. because of the anticipated traffic hazard and the debris <br />(paperSg sticks. etc.) whioh would be discarded in the area. <br /> <br />Matter referred to Atty. Courtney to draft an Ordinance as suggested <br />by Mayor Kennedy. <br /> <br />Storage Building Complaint <br />Paul Kazek. 3223 ~ake Johanna Blvd.. was present and enumerated five <br />complsi nts concerni:lg the maintenance of the area surrounding the village <br />owned storage bUilding, such as road equipmentD sand barrels. etc. <br />He stated that he had complained about the situation several times <br />to Clerk Lorraine StromqUist. Trustees Lang and Olmen and that the <br />oondition at this thle 1s satisfactory, but his purpose for appearing <br />at this Counoil Meeting is to request assurance that the area will <br />continue to be kept in an orderly manner. <br /> <br />Discussion by Mr. Kazek. Trustees Lang and Olmen WaS carried on <br />during which time Mr. Kazek was informed that future plans of the <br />village are to provide adequate storage faoilities in an industrial <br />area. <br /> <br />After thrity five minutes of disoussion. Mayor Kennedy stated that <br />sufficient time had been spent on the matter and informed r~. Kazek <br />that the property would be kept as neat as possible unti+ new facilities <br />are aVailable~ ' <br /> <br />~l~ <br />
