Kennedy. <br />and Olmen. Clerk Lorraine stromquist. <br />Absen'b = None <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular council meeting of June 25. 1962. were <br />approved as amended. <br /> <br />Arden Propertiesc Inc. <br />A1'ter counc11 d1scussion of the matter it w as agreed that appro= <br />val of building plans for proposed bowling lanes to be constructed <br />by Arden properties. Inc. be withheld until new road as shown on <br />plans is constructed because the new building will be located on <br />the road presently giving access to Arden Lumber Mart. <br /> <br />Robert Kerr. Chairman of Land Use Committee stated he would re= <br />commend a meeting to be held between council. his committee. and <br />the land owners of the general area of Hemline and County Road E <br />to try to encourage good long range planning for this valuable <br />area of cornrr~roially zoned property. Council agreed to this and <br />a meeting will be set up in the near future. <br /> <br />Public Works = Trustee Olmen <br />Mr. Olrnen reported that a fence has been installed at Little <br />Johanna Lake dU.e to a high water s i tua tion there. <br /> <br />1~. OImen stated that drainage problem at 1946 Glenview has not <br />been solved yet and he will check with village attorney as to <br />whether or not the problem is a village responsibility. <br /> <br />Council requested Clerk to inquire of village attorney if weed <br />cutting on village sewer and road easments is the responsibility <br />of the village. <br /> <br />Council requested Clerk to check with engineer on the sei~er. ino <br />stallation problem caused by Ray Perron at the Edw. Fyten resio <br />dence at 1137 Laxington Ave. to see if the cave-in was filled in <br />by Perron. Fred Nixon, street maintenance department, stated the <br />site has again caved in. <br /> <br />Zonin~ & Recreation = Trustee Kennedy <br />Kenne y reported there is some con1'usion among village residents <br />as to how much garbage and rubbish the licensed haulers. will pick <br />up and of the rates oharged. Council requested Clark to invite <br />licensed haulers to meeting of July 30,1962 to answer questions <br />to clear up the confusion. Kennedy to contact residents interested <br />in attending meeting. <br /> <br />Fred Nixon was authorized by Council to fill some small potholes <br />bear playground at County Road F and Highway 10. <br /> <br />Public Safety - Trustee crepeau <br />MotIon by crepeau, seconded by Olmen that Attorney Courtney draw <br />up amendment to village liquor licensing ordinance to provide <br />closing hours for sale of off-sale liquor to confoi'm w;;..th Minnesota <br />state law. Carried. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />A meeting is to be held between the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire <br />Department and the three participating Villages of Arden HillsD <br />Shoreviaw and North Oftks to discuss financing of fire protection. <br />, , <br /> <br />Trustee OImen was re~ested by Council to study ordinances of <br />neighboring villages regarding maintenanoe of village road signs <br />and report ~ack to coupcil on the matter. <br />
