,-iIZEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: April 8, 2024
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator
SUBJECT: Hiring of Building Official
Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount:
N/A
Council Should Consider
N/A
Motions to approve, table, or deny the following:
CONSENT ITEM — 8C
Funding Source:
N/A
Hiring of Austin Rademacher to the position of Building Official effective May 3, 2024 at
Grade 15 Step 4, or $44.07 hourly, with no changes to his PTO accrual schedule but an
additional credit of 20 hours of PTO to his existing bank. All other normal benefits apply.
Discussion
This vacancy has been created following the notice of retirement by the City's current Building
Official. Mr. Rademacher is currently the City's Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer and
has been with the City for just under one year. Prior to working for Arden Hills, he worked as a
Building Inspector in Wyoming, MN, and was a Building Permit Technician in Maple Grove prior to
that. The City is also currently reviewing applications for the vacancy this promotion would create
for the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer, and if a qualified candidate is found they will
be brought forward for consideration at a subsequent City Council meeting.
Budget Impact
This approval will not affect the budget as the position is already budgeted for in 2024.
Attachment
N/A
