Larry Bakken Vice President <br /> of the League of Minnesota Cities who serves on the MINNESOTA 2000 Steering Committee, and <br /> others have indicated that I should contact you directly to ask for your help. <br /> I would like to invite you to attend the regional training meeting closest to your community <br /> (see the attached list for sites and dates). The purpose of the regional training meetings is <br /> . to provide community leaders with the information and organizational strategies to plan <br /> MINNESOTA 2000 community meetings -- the heart of MINNESOTA 2000. These meetings are <br /> currently scheduled to take place during a one-week period in April. <br /> Your role in helping your community begin to determine its own education priorities is critical. <br /> A significant role you could play now would be to contact the leaders in your community you know <br /> are committed to improving education and encourage them to attend the regional meeting with you. <br /> I am sure you know many others who would be interested. <br /> Please attend the regional training meeting in your area, and then help with the planning <br /> of your MINNESOTA 2000 program. Please let us know how you plan to be involved by <br /> returning the enclosed card. <br /> I am committed to making MINNESOTA 2000 work for all Minnesota students; your <br /> help is important to our children's future.
