Engineering f= inspection of the <br /> City water tower on Fernwood Avenue. As you knCM, the city has an <br /> existing interior rust problem on this tower that may soon need repair. <br /> Pat Arlig from M.S.A. has discussed this issue with various engineering <br /> firms which perform this type of inspection. Her recarmnendation is that <br /> A.E.C. is qualified to perform this type of inspection and that the <br /> quote received from A.E.C. is very reasonable. Council authorization <br /> for A.E.C. to do this inspection is required. At a previous meeting, <br /> . the Council authorized $3,000 to have this analysis done this fall. The <br /> inspection quote from A.E.C. is for $2,000 with an $850 charge per day <br /> after the first day. <br /> It should be noted that all parties involved indicate that this <br /> inspection can be completed in one day. <br /> R:EO::MMENDATION : <br /> I am requesting Council authorization for the inspection to be done by <br /> A.E.C., as soon as it can be scheduled. <br /> Q)UNCIL ACTION: <br /> 'I11e Council should authorize the Mayor and/or staff to sign the proposed. <br /> contract with A.E.C.
