Minnesota
AEC Proposal #MN062992
Dear Ms, Arlig:
We are pleased to submit this proposal to inspect the 500 MG Hydropillar for the City of
Arden Hills, Minnesota in the Fall 1992,
The inspection will be performed in conformance with the applicable sections of the enclosed
. Procedures For Insoectina Existina Steel Water Storaae Tanks, Please note that the owner is
to provide an operator to control the flow rate from the reservoir, This person must be at the
control station full time while our inspectors are inside the reservoir. This is a safety
precaution so that in an emergency, the flow from the reservoir can be stopped immediately,
The interior will be examined by one or two individuals floating in a raft while the reservoir is
being emptied, This evaluation can only be performed if the temperatures are above freezing
and there is no ice in the reservoir.
The exterior will be examined in areas accessible without any rigging or scaffoldin9, Paint
chips from the exterior coating will be analyzed for total lead content. Based on the results,
we may recommend a TCLP Test be performed on a sand blasted sample to determine if
removal of the exterior coating will generate hazardous waste,
Followin9 the inspection, we will submit an Inspection Report, certified by a professional
engineer. The report will include color photographs of the conditions discovered during the
inspection, engineering analysis. and cost estimates of any reconditionin9 work required, The
report will also include necessary repair procedures for an existing leak, Two copies of the
report will be provided,
The reservoir inspection will be done for a fixed fee of $2.000,00, including the certified
Inspection Report and initial paint chip test for lead, If the Inspection cannot be completed in
one day, each additional day will be charged at $850,00,
The inspection fee does not include the cost of the TCLP Test. AEC provides this service and
a cost estimate will furnished upon request.
.
n ,
