Berger, city 1\dmini.strator
stJBJEX:T: NeWsletter Editor
As Council is aware, Debra Hansen has withdrawn her offer to serve as
the city's Newsletter Editor. since that time, Council1nember Malone
suggested two additional editors for me to interview; they are Barbara
Barker and Kate HueJ:::sch. I interviewed both individuals this week and
their bids are attached to this =ver IUe11'O. Council should note that
Kate HueJ:::sch has proposed a broader scope of work and her fee is
=nsiderably higher.
An amount of $13,044 has been budgeted for the newsletter under ''Mayor
and Council". Grant Pound, the Newsletter's Graphic Designer, has
proposed his .total fees at $2,000 this leaves $11,044 in the budget for
. editing and publishing of the newsletter. Having interviewed both
candidates, Kate HueJ:::sch ilnpressed me with her professionalism and
enthusiasm for becoming the city's newsletter editor.
KATE HUEBSCH BA.RBARA BARKER
Graphic Designer 2,000 2,000
Spring Edition 1,840 800
SUmmer Edition 1,640 800
Fall Edition 1,640 800
Postage (Old
Newsletter) 3,130 3,130
Printing (Old
Newsletter) 1. 750 1. 750
'IOI'AL $12,000 $9,280
utilizing the approximate figures above, it appears that there would be
sufficient funds in the 1992 budget to award the bid to Kate HueJ:::sch.
