Buckley, Parks Director j~ <br /> SUBJECl': Parks , Recreation Weekly Report <br /> ARBOR DAY: <br /> Arden Hills Arbor Day celebration will be on Saturday, April 25 this year. <br /> Letters have been mailed to area Boy s=uts, Girls 5=ut, 4-H, Clubs inviting <br /> them to participate in the activities. <br /> ~ GARDENS: <br /> Arden Hills Flower Planting Day will be Saturday, May 16. County Road E <br /> blsinesses have ~ressed interest in participating again this year. st. Paul <br /> Book and stationary will be sponsoring a flower bed for the first time. The <br /> Flower Connnittee is excited about the addition of banners along the avenue and <br /> feel the banners will help identify County Road E as "downtown". <br /> . Howard Jolmson is again willing to help sponsor the annual breakfast for <br /> flower volunteers. <br /> BIKE-A-'IHON FOR D.A.R.E.: <br /> The area Rotary Club will be sponsoring a Bike-A-'Ihon on Saturday, May 2. <br /> Proceeds from the ride will benefit the D.A.R.E. programs in School District <br /> Nos. 621 and 623 elementary schools. The bike route is 17 miles in length and <br /> passes through Roseville, Shoreview, Arden Hills, and New Brighton. <br /> Respective Park Deparbnents are helping coordinate the activity. <br /> ARMY RFSERVE MEEITNG: <br /> Arden Hills staff members met with a delegation of Army Reserve people on <br /> March 18. Jerry Filla did an excellent job of ~laining the City'S =ncerns. <br /> The Reserve Officers did mention, for the first time, that class room space <br /> may be available for program activities in Aden Hills. staff plans to tour <br /> the facilities to view available space that may be appropriate for <br /> recreational activities. <br /> SCHOOL: <br /> Dave Winkel will be attending the school for Tree Inspectors and chemical <br /> applications .
