The entire Public Works Crew
will be going to see Fred during lunch on Thursday or Friday. We hope
that this will help lift his spirits.
We encountered severe damage to Truck #9 while plowing snow this past
weekend. The plow hit a =ncrete driveway where it meets the curb, and
totally destroyed the plow hitch mounted under the truck to the frame.
The truck frame was also severely bent and will have to be straightened.
Representatives from the plow manufacturer looked at the truck and
stated that the entire hitch should be replaced rather than repaired.
. We will be checking prices for repair work and for adding a wing to this
unit.
On Tuesday, we had a watermain break on Karth Lake Circle, 1 block east
of Harnline Avenue. C.W. Houle was =ntacted and brought in a backhoe to
assist in digging the break. The main was repaired by late afternoon.
The roadway will be repaired as soon as possible.
On Wednesday, I attended a Loss Control Workshop sponsored by the League
of Minnesota cities. The Public Works tract included discussions on
safety, how to handle =mplaints, aboveground fuel tanks, and various
other public works topics.
On Thursday, Joe Mooney and I attended a pre-examination class for the
water school test that will be held on April 8. Both Joe and I will be
attending the water school with hopes of attaining our Class D water
licenses .
If you the Council should have any questions or =ncerns, please feel
free to =ntact me.
oo/ts
M92-101
.
