In filling the position of City Administrator, the Mayor and <br />City council are seeking a person with demonstrated <br />commitment to the highest ideals of public service and <br />professional city administration. Specific qualifications, <br />capabilities, and personal qualities are as follows: <br /> <br />Qualifications <br /> <br />Master of Public Administration, or closely.related degree. <br />3 - 5 years progressively responsible experience in <br />professional city management, preferably as a <br />manager/administrator, or assistant, <br />Generalist education and exposure to a broad range of <br />municipal management issues. <br /> <br />Professional Capabilities <br /> <br />Excellent communication skills - verbal and written <br />Working Knowledge of Municipal Operations - high credibility <br />Budgeting/Financial Management <br />Knowledge of personnel (labor relations) practices, laws, and <br />issues (including comparable worth), <br />Working knowledge of Municipal Law <br />Familiar with computer applications to municipal services <br />Intergovernmental Relations - Regional, State, and Federal - <br />informed and able to represent City'S interests <br />. Working Knowledge of Land Use Planning Procedures <br />Analytical - good problem solver <br />Information gatherer/processor <br />
