POSITION RESPONSIBILITY DESCRIPTION <br /> DATE: NOVEMBER, 1989 <br /> FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION: ADMINISTRATION <br /> POSITION TITLE: DEPUTY CLERK/ZONING ADMINISTRATOR <br /> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: <br /> This is a highly responsible position which entails assisting the City <br /> Administrator in carrying out the legal requirements of the office of <br /> City Clerk and carrying out various statutory duties and ordinances, <br /> while working under the general supervision of the City Administrator. <br /> MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: <br /> 1. Staff liaison for the Planning Commission. <br /> 2. Acts as the City's Zoning Administrator. <br /> 3. Administers the City's election process. <br /> 4. Oversees the City's licensing and permitting process. <br /> i. 5. Performs other duties as assigned. <br /> QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> Two years of college in business administration/public administration <br /> and three years experience as a City Administrator's secretary, City <br /> Clerk or Deputy Clerk in another municipality. Courses in or <br /> certification in the Minnesota Clerk's and Finance Officers <br /> Association as a Certified Municipal Clerk may substitute for the <br /> college educational requirement. <br /> SUPERVISION/ACCOUNTABILITY: <br /> Assists the City Administrator with the supervision of election <br /> personnel and may supervise administrative staff as designated by the <br /> City Administrator. Directy accountable to the City Administrator. <br /> STAFF AND PUBLIC CONTACT: <br /> Frequent contact with all City staff and public. <br /> . <br />
