DISClJSSICE: cmIER PLlOOl:ING :ISSUES Ray McGraw suggested that a statement listirg the responsibilities and authority of the Planning Commission be read at the beginning of each Planning Commission meetirg. He stated that the Commission only listens, evaluates and recommends and in his opinion the public does not fully understarxi camnission responsibilities. Chair Probst outlined the concerns heard earlier this evening from the RV infomational meetirg. He asked the Commission if they preferred to 0;<:('1155 changing any of their rec:omrneroations or preferred to present the changes to the Council for review and final recommendation. Chair Probst requested Commission members corouct a special session prior to February 19, 1993 to consider developirg a Master Plan for the Arsenal property . Chair Probst stated he met with the Mayor, Terry Post, Dick Wedell, Terry Shutten, Paul Kirkwold, and Terry Lin:1eke. Ramsey County is interested in obtaining a site on the Arsenal property and wishes to discuss joint use of the facilities. Probst indicated the DNR and nearby cities are also interested in obtainirg or usirg portions of the Arsenal site. '!he Commission agreed to meet at City Hall on February 10, 1993 at 7:00 pm. axJNC:IL REPC:'RT Counci1member Hicks reported on items of interest to the Commission. Hicks indicated a developer has approached council r~ development of the Gateway Business District. A preliminary sketch was subnitted and further information is to be forwarded at the February Worksession meeting . 'IWo applications have been received for the Council position.
