Adopt Resolution No. 93-08 In Support Of The <br /> Application For A Community Development Block <br /> Grant (CDBG) by Northwest Youth and Family <br /> Services (NYFS) . <br /> e. Approve List of Claims/Payroll (incorporating <br /> amended list of accounts payable dated 2/8/93). <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Jean Lemberg, 1401 Skiles Lane, asked Council whether it may <br />be appropriate to check into the possibi 1 ity of reducing the <br />speed 1 imit for Old Snelling. She added that there have <br />been comments received regarding the difficulty of crossing <br />the street and other concerns relating to the posted speed <br />1 imit on the street. She said apparently the State <br />determines speed 1 imits and if they are unable to reduce the <br />speed of the entire street, perhaps they would consider at <br />1 eas t a portion of the street. <br />Mayor Sather said it may be appropriate to forward this <br />issue to the Public Works/Safety Committee. Lemberg said <br />she has discussed this request with that committee. <br />Staff was directed to forward to the Public Works/Safety <br />Committee the request to investigate a possible speed <br />reduction for old Snelling. <br />counci1member Malone commented that the State sets speed <br />limits in accordance with specific standards. He called <br />attention to the fact that when these types of matters are . <br />investigated by staff or consultants, even if the requests <br />are legitimate, there is a cost involved. He added that <br />the cost of dealing with the Old Snelling issue has already <br />amounted to quite a large expenditure. <br />
