. Arden Hills Council 3 February 8, 1993
Councilmember Aplikowski commented that it is particularly
dangerous to travel Old Snelling north of County Road E and
F in the dark night hours, so she would support checking
into the possibility of reducing the speed limit.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
CASE 93-01 - EDGEWATER ESTATES
SUPPLEMENTAL PUD
Planner Bergly stated that Case 93-01 involves a request to
amend the PUD for Edgewater Estates by adding two units on
the property which was previously the old City lift station
site. He explained that Edgewater Estates was originally
approved as a 31-unit development, and there are currently
29 existing units.
Bergly illustrated preliminary plans as to the placement of
the units and berming on the site. He noted that a two foot
reduction in the height of the westerly berm would be
appropriate. He advised that the Planning Commission
. reviewed this case and recommended 1) Waiving the
development moratorium, 2) Approving the Concept Plan, and
3) Approving the preliminary Plat.
Bergly added that the issues which need to be addressed
later in the General Development plan include 1) Final
grading plan and approval by Rice Creek watershed District,
2 ) A rezoning of the property from R-1 to R-3, 3) A revised
landscaping plan, and 4) A final plat.
Attorney Filla suggested that Council wait to waive the
development moratorium until the final plat stage of
approval.
Councilmember Malone asked what specifics are known with
regard to berming plans on the old lift station site.
Bergly explained that the matter of berming is still not
resolved, as residents have not come to a consensus on that
issue, however, the matter woul? need to be resolved prior
to final approval.
Councilmember Hicks expressed concern with regard to an
existing outlet pipe, measuring approximately 4" in
diameter, on the property. He commented that he would
prefer not to depend on that outlet pipe for drainage
purposes. Berg1y noted Hicks' concern and said that matter
. would be examined.
