Retrocession update - Recently I received verbal infonnation <br /> regarding a fire protection agreement between the Arn1y and the <br /> Mounds View/Spring lake Park voll.U1teer fire department. lam <br /> expecting a =Pi' of this agreement shortly, and further rli',rnc:"'ion <br /> will then be held with the Army Reserve representatives. <br /> Additional investigation is being explored regardirg other <br /> possible conm1Ul1i.ty and City services being performed on behalf of <br /> the Arn1y Reserve, and related cost and re:i.Inh.1rsement agreements. <br /> b. 1994 utility Rate Adjustment Recommendation - A review of known <br /> factors affecting both the water and sewer utility rates has been <br /> completed by Accountant Terry Post. <br /> Water rate - The winter/summer rate increases are anticipated to <br /> increase 3.65% winter and 3.36% summer; personnel related =sts <br /> are anticipated to increase 2%; miscellaneous costs are <br /> anticipated to increase at 3%. A 3.1% overall in=ease for water <br /> rates is recormnended. <br /> Sanitary sewer rate - Based on a 2% flow in=ease costs are <br /> anticipated to in=ease 1. 5%; personnel services are expected to <br /> increase 2%; miscellaneous costs are anticipated to increase 3%. <br /> . '!he Shoreview Arden Hills Lions Club premises gambling permit is <br /> up for renewal. In reviewing the application and related <br /> infonnation, staff is recommending approval of the renewal <br /> application. Attached for your review is the a=unting report. <br /> In the future, the gambling applications will not be added to the <br /> consent calendar to ensure full Council discussion, if <br /> appropriate. <br /> . <br />
