~
. Arden Hills Council 3 January 10, 1994
individual's interest should take top priority.
Mayor Sather appointed Mary Robinson, 1200 Edgewater Avenue, to
the Park & Recreation Committee, if she so chooses to be
appointed to both committees.
Mayor Sather questioned the need to add members to the Economic
Development committee. councilmember Aplikowski stated it is her
intent to rewrite the resolution to declare a 9 member committee,
in lieu of a 7 member committee, therefore 2 additional members
would be needed.
It was noted that the Planning commission and the Public Works &
Safety Committee do not need any additional appointments at this
time.
Mayor Sather questioned whether a response has been heard from
Joseph Corpstein of the Finance Committee. city Accountant Terry
Post stated he had not heard from Mr. Corpstein, however, he
believes he would be willing to serve on an ad hoc basis.
Mayor Sather appointed Christine Leavitt, 1213 Ingerson Road, to
the Finance Committee. He further noted that the Chairperson
. should be appointed from within the Committee.
Councilmember Aplikowski suggested that the February worksession
agenda could include a "kick off" session with all the
Committee/Commission Chairpersons. A basic message should be
conveyed to the Chairpersons as to responsibilities, roles and
expectations. In turn, the Chairpersons should bring to a
worksession their Committee thoughts on goals and a mission
statement. The Council suggested this be done at different
intervals as not to overwhelm any given worksession.
Councilmember Probst suggested to add item 5c to the January 10,
1994 regular Council agenda to ratify the Committee appointments
and Council Liaison Committee appointment changes. All
concurred.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
Thomas R. Sather, Mayor Dorothy A. Person, City Administrator
.
