Intercrnmunication between <br /> Ccxrmittees is encouraged. <br /> In order to enhance involverrent and ownership of p=jects, the ccmnittee <br /> is encouraged to actively conduct their own research within the <br /> CCIl1TIllI1ity or other ccmnuni.ties. While it rray be necessary to request <br /> assistance frcrn staff, the committee most often investigates and puts <br /> rep::>rts tcgether on their own, with reccmnendations to Council. <br /> STRUCTURE <br /> The Council appoints (per ordinance) the Chai:r:person for the Human <br /> Rights O::mnittee and for the Plarming Ccxrmission. Other Ccxrmittees <br /> appoint their own Chai:r:person. Each Ccmnittee also appoints a Vice <br /> Chair and a Recorder. . City staff can assist in the typing of minutes or <br /> agenda if requested in advance. <br /> CDUNCIL LIAISON <br /> e Each year the Council app:>ints a liaison to each Ccxrmittee. The purp:>se <br /> of this liaison is to provide a cannunication link to the Council of <br /> Ccmnittee activities and a link to the Ccxrmittee frcrn the Council and <br /> its activities. The Council liaison will give Council feedback to the <br /> Ccxrmittee of the general activities of the City as requested, in <br /> addition to infonnation specifically related to the Ccxrmittee. <br /> STAFF <br /> City staff involverrent is to provide provide historical inforrration, <br /> knowledge of alte=tives, sources, and a general background. The staff <br /> is to be independent of the Ccmnittee. It is acceptable that the staff <br /> and committee rray differ in recarrrendations to the Council. <br /> Cll1MUNICATIONS <br /> Copies of O::mnittee minutes will be forwarded through the City office to <br /> Council. O::mnittee llErrU:Jers wishing to have copies of Council minutes <br /> will be forwarded upon a request to the City office. <br /> e <br />
