-,-
ARDEN HILLS NEWSLETIER
February 4, 1994
.. ADMINISTRATION-
A. A 1994 review of our computer system, interaction and networking needs will begin
immediately since our three four (4) year old PC's leases are up. Contractor, SCS, Yvonne
Schwartz, can install and ensure cabling, components and employee orientation is completed at
$44/hour to a maximum of 15 hours. She has worked with government services computer needs
and Dorothy has worked with her on previous occasions. It is recommended this alternative be
agreed upon immediately unless the Council indicates otherwise.
B. Upcoming Items at February 17th Worksession: 1) police services options - please advise
administrator of your thoughts regarding options - see memo of January 27th; 2) Council is
requested to add/change the memo regarding Committees as you see fit. Also please add
Committee's goals and priorities for 1994; 3) see note above regarding computer system update;
solicitatiOn/transient merchants/ordinance update from Brian will be forthcoming prior to the
worksession.
C. There have been a few calls asking what's happening with the TCAAP housing facing 35W.
Per Commanders Rep Mike Fix the "McKinney Act" federally mandates review of any unused
housing prior to any reuse, removal, etc., to federal and local needs. This review may take
some time and does not identify the houses for immediate reuse, demolition or sale or any
other immediate use.
. D. The City has been advised that an engineering study for a TCAAP sewer line is being planned
for a connection to Mounds View. It is being checked into. At this time the information
gathered is that 1) the TCAAP collector is and has been located just north of the
Administrative offices; 2) that Mounds View pipes will carry more than Arden Hills' pipes near
Lumber and this piping services the Army offices and Alliant Tech. The Army offices (Mike
Fix and attorney from Illinois) have tentatively agreed through Arden Hills billing for an
agreement of use and the future requirements for Arden Hills hookups.
2. PUBLIC WORKS
A. The question asked at the last Council meeting regarding 7 vs 9 ton road on Amble was
checked. All planned roads are 9 ton. We found only one reference to a 7 ton. Thanks for
bringing this to our attention.
3.COMMUNI'IY PLANNING
A. No phone calls or comments have been received regarding Council's approval of the ordinance
amendment regarding Ryder/Reco.
B.
